In thy great wisdom and mercy, you also made for mankind's enjoyment and blessing a great land, Texas. We are humbled by this sign of your love for us, and thank you that we, your elect - who know the greatness of Texas and endure abuse of the heathen pagan...Yankees, Oklahomans, and most of Europe (not to mention Commies and Canadians) - have been chosen to receive your blessings.
Now, O Lord, we unworthily ask one more blessing. We pray that this year, you would accomplish your will and bring for us an All-Texas World Series and an All-Texas Superbowl. We pray for your chosen teams: The Rangers and Astros, Texans and Cowboys, that you would imbue them with skill, talent, passion and strength. For the Rangers we ask for continues success upon Kinsler, Hamilton, and Yu (the pitcher Yu...not You...well, You are successful and...right. Forgot, your omniscient. I'll stop rambling). For the Astros we pray for...well continue the miracle. May Schaub's foot be strong, and keep Romo's airway clear.
We pray Lord that you would unite all Texans in an assured victory for the people of Texas. That in our divisions of loyalty to team, we would rejoice in the joy that comes with being Texan, and overcoming all our non-Texas adversaries. Then all will know how your favor rests upon Texas, and they will stop making fun of us for thinking we are better than everyone else...because we know we are and they just haven't figured this out yet. We call that, "Enlightenment".
-Amen
